Philosophy & Values
Client Centered
I use an individualized approach designed to fit your abilities and goals. Your autonomy and uniqueness are important to me and to that end I promise to always do my best to listen and understand your perspective so that we can better collaborate to get you where you want to go at a safe and effective pace.
Fun
I like to say “always err on the side of fun” and we will! I don’t want to force you to do things you hate but rather help you fall in love with movement and eating. That will make all the difference when it comes to building a sustainable lifestyle that you can practice for life.
Safety
Safety will always be the highest priority. We’ll modify as needed and I’ll draw on my knowledge of biomechanics and exercise selection to provide you with safe but effective exercises and programming.
Deep Health
Fitness and nutrition are a lot more than just workouts and meal guidance. I use a Deep Health model that incorporates six areas of health (Physical, Mental, Social, Relational, Emotional, Environmental, Existential) to help better guide you towards more profound health in all aspects of your life.
Sustainability
We’ll work together to build self efficacy in your own practices. I’ll help you build more confidence, more motivation, and a mindset that fosters resilience and growth for the long haul.
Movement Optimism
Movement is healing. In fact it may be the most powerful medicine available to us. I’ll help you get moving! You’ll build resilience, not just physically, but mentally, in relation to movement. So that you can unlock more powerful and diverse ways to move, heal, and progress towards your goals.
Education
I promise not only to be the eternal learner but also to do my best to impart my knowledge to you in a way that you can apply in an easy and effective manner. Continuing education is important to me and I promise to stay on top of the latest research so that my own training and guidance adheres to the best evidence based practices.
CONSTANT FORWARD MOVEMENT
Hey, what's up. I'm Colton. I'm a personal trainer/nutrition coach/hiking freak/big fan of wearing hats/person who has done a lot of Stuff.

Pictured here on the Loowit Trail for my fifth circumnavigation of Mt. St. Helens.
I've been in the movement and nutrition game since I can remember. A lot of my experience is owed to my dad, an incredible long distance athlete and multiple Iron Man finisher. In my late teens I took after my dad and trained for triathlon. Eventually I fell in love with hiking, especially long distance hiking. This led me to my first thru-hike, 2200-ish miles on the Appalachian Trail. The Colorado Trail would follow. So nice I did it twice.
All the while I've been in the gym and on the trail, getting in the reps and the steps. I love to move and that has never changed, will never change. I love helping others move and to see the transformation that results. My clients have run ultras and completed thru-hikes, gained strength and mobility in ways they didn't know they could, lost weight, improved health biomarkers, and learned to eat for health and enjoyment. I've always cared deeply about wellness and to that end I relentlessly pursue education related to health, fitness, and nutrition. That, also, will never change.
